Malica Williams brings over 20 years of accounting expertise to her role as founder of ALW C.A.R.E.S. Growing up in Florida, she was deeply influenced by her family’s legacy of community service most notably her grandfather, Havert L. Fenn, a respected educator and commissioner, and her grandmother Dorothy Bowe, the first Black nurse in Indian River County.
What began as a family tradition of Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs), where Malica and her family raised funds to help community members in need, evolved into ALW C.A.R.E.S in 2023. Named after her daughters—Amani, Alysha, and Amaya—the organization reflects Malica’s commitment to providing permanent affordable housing and comprehensive support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Central Florida.
